WOWEE Wednesday Guest Designer!

Our WOWEE Guest Designer for the week is
Kerry Kung!

Help us welcome Kerry, leave her some love!  She is a FAB card creator and we are lucky to have her join us this week.  Here is what Kerry has to say:

Hello, my name is Kerry Kung and I live in Southern New Hampshire. A bit about myself, I married my wonderful husband on April Fool day on a white sand beach in Aruba (and nope, it's not a joke). No kids for me yet, but I do have a 20+ years lovebird and a black adorable kitty. I started scrapbooking about 10 years ago and then 5 years ago... I started to make cards and oh boy.... I'm so in trouble, haha!!! I work full time, so that I support my 'bad habit' buying craft goodies, hehe!!!

I'm super excited to be the guest designer this week for A Random Fun, and here is a card using adorable 'Bedtime Story'.

Guest Designer

This week we are welcoming
Melissa Craig
as our WOWEE Wednesday Guest Designer.

We are so happy to have Melissa join us today.  She created a really cute card for us.  Here is what Melissa has to say:

Hi!  I'm Melissa Craig and I'm so happy to be a guest today!  Just a little about me:  I've been stamping and paper crafting for 19 years now and it's been such a fun journey.  It is my weekend therapy.  I have a little challenge blog called Tuesday Morning Sketches as well as my personal blog Stamp It, Scrap It, Share It where I like to share little tidbits about my family, my cards and projects.  I got a Silhouette Portrait for Christmas so I try to incorporate whatever cut I can.  As you'll see in my card today.

I really love A Random Fan images, they are so adorable.  My card features Serendipity and these two little Hedgies are so sweet - I mean, look at those faces!  It was challenge for me to color this image, I wanted texture and not muddy up their cuteness.  I still don't think I got it right, but they are still quite cute.  I did use my Portrait to cut out the background, which is a journal card I made a little bigger and moved "everyday" to the top.

I hope you enjoy my card and again thank you for letting me be a guest with you all today.

Design Team Spotlight-Jenn

Jenn Zeeb here today and it's my day to for the spotlight.
I decided to use Daisy and Dexter Bunting image and fussy cut it, then paper pieced the bunting.  I love this image and plan to give this to my Mom for her birthday.

Any questions feel free to check out my blog stamplified, I would love for you to visit anytime.

Guest Designer

This week we are welcoming
Denice Bartucci
as our WOWEE Wednesday Guest Designer.

I am completely in love with the project Denice did for us this week.  Here is what Denice has to say:

Hi there, this is Denice for this week's GDT spot. Who doesn't love rainbows?

I love making tags and as soon as I saw Gemma on Cloud 9 (oh my...isn't she just the most adorable image?!) I had an idea...I just didn't think it would take me three tries.  I started by making 3 different tags and I liked each one of them well enough, but I didn't LOVE any of them.  It seemed each tag had something fun and unique on it, but alone....meh!  After pulling them apart and playing around a bit..

Here is my finished tag coming in at a whopping 3.25" x 6.25", not including the tulle topper.  The 3" x 3" shaker box is filled with sequins and seed beads and opens for a personal note.  Alpha beads, flowers, twine, and mesh bling make for a bright and colorful tag.

I am not one who usually uses so much color, but I thought....what the heck, I'll go for it.

Design Team Spotlight - Paula

I am going to try and show you how to turn a digital stamp into a 3D masterpiece. Well, show you the steps I take anyway, and, maybe not quite a masterpiece, but a very effective card.

The first thing I do is have about four copies of the stamp I want to use, printed and ready to go. For this example I have used Animal Party.

For the first step, I colour in my digital stamp, using grey. I have found that if you leave it white, when you look at the card from an angle, you will see white.

The second thing I do, is to determine the layers I am going to use and colour them in the colours I want for the image.

Once you have coloured all your pieces that you want to have 3D. Its time to grab those scissors and start chopping away.

I like to go around each edge using my black marker. This way, you won't get a white edges along your pieces.

Once your pieces are cut, turn them over and using your stylus and foam mat, gently make an indent, or a slight curve in the cut out pieces. Now, onto the fun part. Putting it all together. I used a combination of glue and pop dots to stick the layers down.

So, now that your image is ready to go. Finish your card.

And, here is my finished card.
There is a link at the bottom of this post, hopefully directing you the tutorial that I used to create this little fellow. So, if you get lost along the way, have a look.

WOWEE Wednesday Guest Designer!

This week we are welcoming
Leanne Poe

as our WOWEE Wednesday Guest Designer.

Leanne has been very busy creating with Gemma on Cloud Nine.  Her card and tags are just FAB!!  I love the felt clouds she add on her card, and the little clothes pin ties on the tags, so clever!  Here is what Jenn has to say:

Aloha! I'm Leanne aka Liloshaggymoto and I live in sunny Los Angeles, CA. I'm excited to be a guest for today.  I've been crafting for about 5 years now and blogging for possibly 3-4 (sorry the brain doesn't remember too much these days... lol)  I started drawing, sewing and crocheting in middle school, then I started playing sports so crafts were something I had to put on the shelf.  After college I started scrapbooking and a year later I learned about cardmaking.  I have to say, and this is my opinion, it's so much better than scrapbooking! (hahaha)  I don't really have a style, just sorta go with the flow, but I absorb so much from other bloggers and try to incorporate what I learn from them in to my projects.  I am currently a designer for Kitty Bee Designs. When I'm not crafting I'm usually reading, or stuck to the tv watching all kinds of shows such as The Voice to Criminal Minds, to staying up late on Saturday nights to watch all the anime cartoons.  Yep I'm an otaku at heart!

I chose Gemma on Cloud 9 to showcase because I love rainbows (reminds me of Hawaii) and cute little fairies (well... cause they're cute).  A plus is that she is so darn cute!!  She is being added to my favorite image to color up list.  As for my card, its pretty CAS because I wanted the image to be center stage. I also made two CAS cute tags, sort of a Naughty or Nice theme. Hope you like.
Sherry, Mahalo for having me as a guest here at A Random Fan! ^.^
